A Christmas Wish from Fr. Jets

“In this way the love of God was revealed to us: God sent his only Son into the world so that we might have life through him.” -I John 4:9

Dear parishioners, friends and visitors,

John writes in his letter that “God is love” and it is during this holy season that we so richly experience the tender love of our God. Every element of the Christmas story expresses love: Our Mother’s faith-filled “Yes!” to the angel Gabriel, Elizabeth’s joyful welcome at Mary’s hasty arrival, Joseph’s unfailing fidelity, the heavenly invitation to the lowly shepherds, the gentle care of the newborn Babe. God the Father takes these threads of love and weaves together His divine and human families by sending His Beloved Son into our world.

God’s perfect love enters the world through the birth of Jesus Our Savior, filling our imperfect human lives with heavenly hope in the present time and for the life to come. In the Child Jesus, God invites us anew to live fully as His sons and daughters and to be a symbol of hope to one another – this is the Light of Love from Bethlehem.

My prayer for you this Christmas is that you will see this wondrous tapestry of God’s love with fresh eyes and open hearts so that it is woven more deeply into every facet of your life. May the love of Christ be renewed in our hearts, in our homes and in our parish community so that we may share the Light of our Savior with the world as His family on earth.

A Blessed Christmas and a Grace-filled New Year to you and your loved ones!
